Simplicity of a little box with HDMI out and flexible power requirements.
Vendor lock-in is a real thing with FPV. You can go in several directions such as Avatar, HD Zero, DJI or Analog. Once locked-in, by definition, it's tough to get out and try something new without significant investment. The Walksnail/Avatar VRX module helps alleviate this by being able to connect to just about any system with HDMI. For me that turns out to be Sky04X Analog goggles with decent screens, but if I change my mind and want to use a high brightness portable field monitor instead, then it's a simple matter of using an HDMI cable. Perhaps a DJI headset with HDMI in? Sure! Is it good enough for racing? Perhaps the latency might be a bit high for professional racing pilots, but for freestyle flying, or just something that's easier on the eyes than analog, the Walksnail VRX paired up with a compatible camera and VTX is a great bargain. Seriously cheaper than DJI03 and thanks to Avatar's 1S VTX solutions, the tiniest drones can be equipped to fly with Avatar/Walksnail HD. With the Avatar VRX, I don't feel locked-in since all I need is an HDMI port and it's go time.
