By dropping the gimbal 8mm and keeping your stick ends the same distance from the face of the radio, you essentially add an extra ~22% of resolution to the stick.

*Note: This mod requires you to open your radio and remove your gimbals. This is entirely done at your own risk and may void your warranty.
