    good upgrade for geprc rockets.

Posted by Brendan on 2020 Nov 26th

I have these on both versions of the GepRC rocket, plus + lite, much smoother throttle response. They might have a tiny bit less top punchout power however the middle is very smooth and predictable. Be sure to set your motor pole count for bi-directional DSHOT to 14 otherwise your ESC's will run them slower if left at the stock 12 due to a false RPM reading. A fully loaded GepRC rocket Plus with full-size air unit + larger 850mAh pack coming in around 260g hovers around centre stick throttle whereas slightly less stick to hover with the stock motors. Flies like a tank yes, but with very predictable throttle control & most importantly safe fun around the house. The motor stator/pole config appears to be your standard 12n14p config which of course is a big advantage for a smaller motor of this size, its not 9n14p which seems to be a mislabel by the manufacturer. There are 12 stator electromagnets, count 'em. Overall a great motor.

    Very smooth and quiet

Been running these on the GepRC rocket and they are a tad underpowered for that prop size/weight but the motored themselves are very very smooth and have taken a beating around trees, parks, warehouse just fine. Anecdotally I do wonder if they are maybe a touch below the listed 5000kv based on the performance but obviously that would be nothing new for motors.
